Spooky Halloween Mirror

This is a great tutorial for Halloween decorations. I don't have that many so right now I am trying to prepare for the spooky holiday season.

After your done with the "Shabby Chic" step, wipe down mirror front, and put the whole thing together. Secure however will work with your frame and mirror, and reapply the hook on back for hanging.

All Finished!!

This was a super fun project for me and I originally found it on No Biggie. Her tutorial is really awesome, and when I saw it I just had to make one for myself. I also got the image from The Vintage Moth. This entire project cost me exactly $1.99!

Kitchen Decor

This is my first real craft post. I made this thing for my kitchen.
I'm not sure what I should call it yet.

First I painted it black, and then spray painted it cream once the black had dried.

Then I "shabby chiced" it (sanded it and roughed it up)

Then I cut chicken wire into sections that fit in each frame. I didn't put chicken wire in all the frames cause I wanted to have there be clothing pins too. (You'll see below)

Then I stapled it to the back of the frame.

Front view.

Once all the chicken wire was in. (Do you like my messy garage?)

Then I spray painted clothing pins for the frames that didn't have chicken wire.

After the pins were dry I hot glued them on to the front of the frame.

I made these fun pictures in photoshop from vintage clip art. I haven't finished all the frame spaces yet. I was also thinking it might be fun for Halloween to trade out the kitchen graphics for some spooky pictures.

FINISHED!

I think it fits very nice in my kitchen.

Craft Blog

So I've been debating for a long time if should start a craft blog or not. There are so many out there and I am not even close to being as good as the other ones out there. But that thought right there is the one that got me thinking. This blog should be for me and it doesn't have to be better than the rest just good enough for me. So I am going to post every once an a while the crafts I've been doing. Since that is pretty much all I do.

Wesley Update

So I have been terrible about adding to my blog. A little update, Wesley will be six months soon and he just had surgery about 3 weeks ago for a shunt revision. That basically means that his previous shunt was not working and they replaced it with a new one. He is doing really well and back to his happy self. We are having a wonderful time with him. Every night we lay him down to sleep and marvel that we made this little bundle of joy. There is no one we love being with or talking about more. He is starting to eat cereal and he will begin baby food soon. He is 16 lbs plus and a little over 25 inches. He is happy, healthy, and everything we could have ever wished for.
